Insurance

All club officials/volunteers are required to complete and sign an ARU registration form to be eligible for insurance cover
Injury Forms / Recording - The club should ensure that Medical Personnel /Trainers / Team Management, fill out injury forms describing the injuries sustained, traveling to/from details, during or after training/games/club activities. This should also include medical recommendations made at the time and any follow up action taken.
Serious Injury - If a fatality or suspected spinal injury occurs clubs are to immediately follow the ARU's Protocol for Serious Injury.
Other Injury - Once medical treatment has been sought and the costs look like exceeding the excess, a claim should be submitted. Long-term injuries would automatically fall into this category.
Responsibilities - It is the responsibility of the injured person's parents to decide whether a claim is to be made. For club games, the secretary is required to obtain the appropriate forms from the insurer and to complete the Club Section before it is submitted. For representative games, record the occurrence as for a club and direct that it be submitted via the club. Serious Injury protocol would be the responsibility of the Host Club / Organization, but the Team Management is still responsible for ensuring that this is being carried out.
Time Limit - Claims are to be submitted normally within 30 days of the occurrence.
