| Team Allocation Policy |

| Allocation of Players to Teams and Team Size Capping |
|
| The Management Committee will allocate players to teams in an effort to maximize each player's safety and enjoyment of the Rugby experience of team and club spirit within a caring club environment. |
|
| The Management Committee of Brothers Junior Rugby Union Club Inc will consult with parents, age-group co-ordinators, coaches and managers during the allocation process. All decisions of the Management Committee regarding allocation of players to teams will be final. |
|
|
| The club policy on allocation of players to teams recognises the following principles: |
|
| Team Numbers |
| when there is more than one team in an age group, team numbers are kept as even as possible within the preferred minimum and maximum number limits. This will ensure that all players have as much safe playing time as possible. |
|
| Under 6-09s |
| siblings may be placed in the same colour group so that, as often as possible, they will play at the same venue on any given day. |
|
| Under 10s up |
| The club policy on allocation of players to teams recognises the following principles: |
|
| Returning Players |
| have been given the opportunity to register before any new players. |
|
| Registration |
| players can only be considered for allocation to a team if they are registered and have paid the required fee. |
|
| Recruitment |
| will always be deemed to the club i.e. the player will play for the club but cannot be assured of allocation to a specific team.
|
|
| Player requests for transfers to other teams within the club |
| all requests must be made in writing to the Management Committee and a final decision will be made by the Management Committee following consultation with parents, the age-group co-ordinator and team management. |
|
| Dissolving a team |
| The Management Committee will ensure that all avenues of building teams to the preferred minimum numbers are exhausted before approving dissolution of a team. The Registrar may submit an age-group allocation to the committee for approval that may include the dissolution of a team when no other alternative is available

| U 06 - U 09 Allocations will be made in the following order: |
|
| Returning Players |
| will be allocated to last season's "core" team provided they have registered before the 26th February 2010 (Any returning players who have not registered before this date may be allocated to any team that has not been filled during the allocation process) |
|
| Vertical Alignment of Siblings |
| Youngest to align with oldest sibling within selected colour groups |
|
| New Players to Rugby & Club |
| At least one new player is to be allocated to teams before consideration of player transfers. (Player Transfers are subject to Management Committee's decision) |
|
| Approved Player Transfers |
|
| Club Recruitment |
| The club will attempt to recruit new players to be allocated to teams that have not been filled by the allocation process.
